WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOUR VISIT

The RCMP Heritage Centre is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable environment for our guests during this time. We are working closely with industry partners to monitor developments relating to COVID-19, and taking direction from provincial, Canadian, and global health authorities. The health and safety of all our visitors and employees remains our top priority. We have taken precautionary measures throughout our building in order to provide a safe and healthy environment for all.

Please read the following information before your visit to ensure you are complying with all current public health guidelines.

Proof of Vaccination

Effective Friday, October 1, 2021, new COVID-19 public health measures mandated by the Government of Saskatchewan require that all guests aged 12+ must provide proof of vaccination OR present a negative Covid-19 test result received within the past 72 hours PLUS government issued ID to visit the RCMP Heritage Centre.

You can provide proof of vaccination using one of the following options:

  1. QR code on your mobile phone
  2. Printed QR code
  3. Wallet card or government documentation received at time of vaccination

Mandatory Masks

All visitors and employees are required wear a face mask to enter the RCMP Heritage Centre. If you need a mask, one can be provided for you.

Contactless Payment

Contactless payment helps fight the spread of COVID-19. We encourage visitors to use credit or debit cards but we will also accept cash.

Tours of RCMP Academy, Depot Division Unavailable

For safety reasons, all visits to RCMP Academy, Depot Division are now prohibited. As a result, tours of Depot Division, as well as viewing of The Sergeant Major’s parade and Sunset Retreat Ceremonies are suspended indefinitely.

Capacity

The RCMP Heritage Centre no longer has a maximum capacity based on COVID-19 guidelines, but is encouraging physical distancing throughout the galleries.

Preventative Measures

We have implemented increased cleaning protocols for high-touch surfaces in public areas, including bars, handrails, seat arms, elevators, and washrooms . We are also providing additional hand sanitizer dispensers for employee and public use. We encourage everyone to follow the guidelines of the Saskatchewan Health Authority and Health Canada. Practicing proper hygiene etiquette and taking preventative actions helps reduce the spread of respiratory viruses.

We are reminding employees through multiple channels to wash hands frequently and use proper hand-washing protocol. Employees have further been reminded to take increased measures to reduce the risk of transmission of the flu and respiratory illness and to stay home if they are sick.

Bookings

The RCMP Heritage Centre is accepting facility rental or educational programming bookings for the rest of the 2021/2022 calendar year. If you require information about a facility rental you have already booked, please contact Scott Saxby. If you have questions about a group/educational programming you have already booked, please contact Deb LeDressay.

KEY HEALTH NOTES THAT YOU CAN FOLLOW TO REDUCE THE SPREAD OF COVID-19:

· Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after using the washroom and when preparing food.
· Use alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
· Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
· When coughing or sneezing:
o cough or sneeze into a tissue or the bend of your arm, not your hand.
o dispose of any tissues you have used as soon as possible in a lined waste basket and wash your hands afterwards.
