This original Inuit Eider-Duck Skin Parka from 1898, was acquired by Cst. J.B. Jensen from the Herschell Island Detachment. Members serving in Northern Canada quickly learned that parkas made by the locals were better suited to the frigid weather conditions.
The "150 Years in 150 Objects" exhibit will only be here for a few more weeks! Make sure to check out these never-before-displayed artifacts before they return to storage.

On November 11, we take a moment of silence to pay our respects and remember the courageous men and women who have served, and continue to serve, Canada during times of war, conflict, and peace. Let us not forget the more than 2.3 million Canadians who have served our nation throughout history and over 118,000 who made the ultimate sacrifice.
In honour of Remembrance Day, we will be closed on Saturday, November 11. Lest We Forget.
