Visitez nos galeries pour découvrir plus d’un siècle d’histoire de la GRC, de la formation de la Police à Cheval du Nord-Ouest (P.C.N.-O.) en 1873 à la police montée moderne. Les invités du Centre du Patrimoine de la GRC peuvent découvrir les histoires antérieures et modernes de la GRC grâce à une variété d’expositions traditionnelles et informatives, d’expériences de réalité virtuelle et les événements en direct.
Le Centre est situé sur le terrain de la Division Dépôt de la GRC, où les membres de la GRC sont formés depuis 1885. Le Centre du Patrimoine est détenu et exploité par un organisme sans but lucratif et appuyé par l’Unité des Collections Historiques de la GRC.
Avec l’enthousiasme qui grandissent en à cause du 150e anniversaire de la GRC et soutenu par le mandat de commémorer cette partie importante de l’histoire canadienne, le Centre du Patrimoine de la GRC met de l’avant ses plans pour devenir le plus récent musée national du Canada.
Les musées ont un but civique. En devenant le plus récent musée national du Canada, le Centre du Patrimoine de la GRC inciterait les Canadiens à explorer les meilleures façons d’honorer le passé avec l’authenticité et de raconter même les histoires les plus difficiles avec la dignité et la compassion.
Il y a de nombreux chapitres fiers dans l’histoire de la GRC et d’autres qui sont extrêmement douloureux. En reconnaissant les luttes du passé, le musée permettra aux visiteurs de réfléchir, d’entendre de divers points de vue et d’en apprendre sur l’histoire du Canada et son avenir.
Le Centre du patrimoine de la GRC reconnaît que la Saskatchewan est un territoire situé sur des terres régies par des traités. Ces traités servent à établir des relations avec les Peuples autochtones. Le Centre du patrimoine de la GRC est situé sur le territoire régi par le Traité 4, qui est la terre ancestrale des Nehiyaw/Cree, Saulteaux, Dakota, Lakota, Nakota et Pieds-Noirs. Le Centre du patrimoine de la GRC reconnait le territoire traditionnel des Métis et honore leurs contributions.
