About the Program:
The RCMP has been linked to Métis communities throughout history. We’ll dive into the rich history of Métis Peoples, learn about how they were impacted by western expansion, and explore how they shared their cultural histories and values through art.
Learning Outcomes:
- Learn about who the Métis are and their history in Canada.
- Understand the impact expansion to the west had on the Métis Peoples.
- Understand the relationships between the Métis Peoples and the early NWMP.
- Learn about the importance of the arts in Métis culture.
