When you think of the RCMP Heritage Centre, we hope you will think of us in your Will. Leaving a bequest in your Will is a generous, profound, and a surprisingly simple gesture.
There are many ways to leave a bequest in your Will. Examples include a gift of securities or stock, gift of RRSP/RRIF, gift of a Life Insurance policy, gift of Real Property, or even a simple percentage (%) or amount ($) of your estate.
Legacy gifts can provide great tax advantages in your estate. Your charitable tax receipt will provide your estate with 100% tax advantage on the total amount donated. Legacy gifts are a tool used by Financial Advisors as a way to help you offset taxes that can occur in your estate (for example, through the tax cost of RRSPs and RRIFs).
There are three simple steps for creating a legacy gift to the RCMP Heritage Centre:
- Talk it over with your family and loved ones.
- Speak with your lawyer to plan and prepare a Will or add a council.
- Contact us about your intentions so we can recognize you during your lifetime.
Please contact us to inform us of your intentions of a legacy gift. It gives us a chance to thank you now, and more importantly to talk to you about how your gift will best support the RCMP Heritage Centre. Every legacy gift is recognized at the RCMP Heritage Centre, and makes a remarkable difference to our cause.
