The final flight of the legendary Beechcraft!
Since 1937, aircraft have played a vital role in the national police service in Canada.
In 1946 the RCMP purchased a pair of Beechcraft D18S. This plane was active until 1970, at which point it was decommissioned.
It was donated to the RCMP Centennial Museum, now known as the RCMP Historical Collection Unit, and has been on display at Depot since 1971. The Beechcraft now “flies” outside the RCMP Heritage Centre, illuminating an exciting aspect of RCMP history.
